Colin Farrell wins an IFTA

This is cool.  Colin won the best actor for the Irish Film and Television Awards.  It's Ireland's equivalent of an Oscar.

Katheryn Winnick nominated for Gotham Independent Film Award

Congrats to Katheryn on her nomination for Best Ensemble in "Cold Souls" which she shares with Paul Giamatti, Emily Watson, David Strathairn, and Dina Korzun.

We had a lot of fun working on her character of Sveta, that the New York Times described as a "soap-opera star who yearns for the soul of Al Pacino (played by a very good Katheryn Winnick)."  Read the whole NYT review here.

It's really all thanks to your hard work.

There's a great documentary called, "Theater of War."  It's a behind-the-scenes look at the Public Theatre's staging of Berthold Brecht's "Mother Courage and Her Children" in Central Park starring Meryl Streep; as well as a look into the life of Berthold Brecht.

 

Both Brecht and Streep share the same unromantic, nuts and bolts philosophy toward art: It's not mysterious; just hard work.

Rehearsals are the work.  That's where you toil in the mine to discover that one nugget of gold that helps you manifest a great performance.
